It was a beautiful sunny day. 23 people showed up, we cycled from Portadown to Newry with a stop at the Scarva Tea Room for lunch.

Most of the group made the return to Portadown for a full 40 miles of cycling!

Our annual pedaling picnic was held Sunday 18th June  2006. Despite heavy rains, a good sized group headed off from the car park by Stranmillis for the cycle down to Lady Dixon Park. By the time the group reached the park the sun was back and the day was perfect for a picnic.

The 3rd event was a city centre cycle ride after work on the 23rd of June. The event was designed to promote cycling in the city . Participants rode around city centre passing out leaflets listing the advantages of cycling. They also passed out cycle maps and NICI ;membership forms. The event was well received by pedestrians and motorists and there is talk about doing it again on a somewhat regular basis. If you are interesting in participating,  send an e-mail to web@NICI.ORG.UK.
